What
can an online component do for you and your students? We asked teachers
this question, and the overwhelming response was that they want
something that will save them time and improve their
students' results. In response, we have created MyNorthStarLab,
online software that benefits both teachers and students.
How
Does MyNorthStarLab Save Teachers Time?
We looked at teachers' daily lives and found several tasks
that could be done more quickly with online software.
- Automatically graded homework: MyNorthStarLab
contains exercises for each section of each unit in the NorthStar
student books, and most of these exercises are automatically graded.
This means that teachers don’t have to create new homework
and they don’t have to spend time grading it.
- Convenient Management System:
In MyNorthStarLab,
setting homework only takes a few mouse clicks. Teachers can set up
their course in a single morning and not have to assign homework for
the rest of the semester.
How
Does MyNorthStarLab Improve Student Results?
Students' time outside of class is often not spent
effectively enough. We created MyNorthStarLab to give students:
- Automatically graded homework:
The homework benefits students by giving them immediate feedback on
their performance. This feedback then allows students to come to the
classroom better prepared.
- Assessment with personalized remediation: The tests in MyNorthStarLab
respond to each student’s strengths and weaknesses, and
automatically offer additional practice on skills in need of
improvement.
