Free Test Prep Resources for Pearson Test of English
Kelsey P. Miller, Senior Marketing
Manager, Americas, Pearson Language Tests
Pearson Test of English
Academic (PTE Academic) is an innovative language test that measures
real-life language ability through the use of tasks that require test
takers to produce language during the test session. The test format and
item structure may feel new to some test takers.
That is why we are developing a wealth of resources so that you can
help your students prepare to succeed on PTE Academic. Early this year,
we will be making a full set of lesson plans to teachers who become
Professional Partners. You can learn more about partnering with us
here. A sample lesson plan will be posted on www.pearsonpte.com soon
— check it out!
We have also begun posting to a Test Tip blog, which you and your
students can read here. We will regularly update the blog with
information on the test itself — structure, format, and
common words used in instructions — as well as with tips on
how to best perform on some of the various item types.
We also encourage you to take full advantage of The Official Guide to
PTE Academic, published by Pearson Longman. This guide provides
information on registering for and taking the test as well as valuable
instruction for understanding the different item types that PTE
Academic uses.
The Official Guide is available in both electronic format and
hardcopy with companion CD-ROM; you can purchase the bookCD-ROM combination online through Longman.
Don't Forget!
