“She Takes Good Care of ‘im”: Reductions with “h”

Reductions with “h” present one of the hardest listening challenges for students learning English. “h” is commonly dropped in unstressed words such as “has,” “have,” "him," "her," "his," "had," and "he's.” Because these words are so frequent in spoken English, this reduction can impact comprehension significantly. Stacy Hagen provides two lessons to help students better understand how they can expect to hear common unstressed words beginning with “h.”
