The Jungle Book

This is the story of Mowgli, a human boy or ‘Man-cub’ who is raised in the jungle by wolves. There are, however, many dangers in the jungle. The greatest danger is Shere Khan, a fearsome man-eating tiger who has promised to kill the boy.
For safety’s sake, it is decided that Mowgli should return to civilization. Bagheera the panther goes with him. On the journey, he rescues Mowgli from Kaa, a huge python.
But Mowgli doesn’t want to leave his beloved jungle home, and he and Bagheera separate. Mowgli meets a friendly bear named Baloo. But a troop of monkeys grabs Mowgli and takes him to the ape King Louie. In exchange for the secret of Man’s fire, Louie, not realizing Mowgli doesn’t know this secret, offers to help Mowgli stay in the jungle.
Determined to recover Mowgli, Baloo dresses up as a female ape and dances with King Louie while Bagheera attempts to get Mowgli. But Baloo’s disguise falls off, and the angry monkeys attack. Baloo and Bagheera escape with Mowgli. But Mowgli still doesn’t want to leave the jungle and runs away. The fierce tiger Shere Khan attacks Mowgli, but Baloo grabs his tail. When a lightning bolt strikes a tree, Mowgli ties a burning branch to the tiger’s tail; and Shere Khan runs away.
Mowgli’s friends take him to the Man-village, where he sees a pretty young girl. He decides to stay.
Lady and the Tramp II, Scamp's Adventure

Lady and Tramp live in a happy and loving home with the Darling family. The dogs are the proud parents of Annette, Colette, Danielle, and mischievous Scamp, who refuses to follow the “house rules.”
One day, adventurous Scamp sees the Junkyard Dogs gang escaping from the dogcatcher, and he joins them. Pretty stray puppy Angel takes him to meet the other dogs. To become a gang member, Scamp tries to pass some tests.
As his first test, Scamp must face Reggie, a big bully. As the second test, Scamp must steal a chicken from his very own family.
Scamp learns his lesson when he is captured and taken to the dog pound, as the gang refuses to help him. Angel tries to help by running to the Darling home to tell Scamp’s family what happened. She and Tramp race back to rescue Scamp. In the end, Scamp realizes who his true family is, and he and Angel return to live in the Darling home.
The Sword in the Stone

In the churchyard of a cathedral in London is a sword, magically embedded in a stone. Words engraved on the sword blade claim that whoever can pull the sword out of the stone is the true and rightful King of England. Many men try, but no one can pull out the sword.
Eleven-year-old Arthur, better known as “Wart,” lives in the castle of Sir Ector, where he works as a servant and apprentice squire. One day, at a tournament in London, Wart realizes he has forgotten his master’s sword. On his way back to get it, he sees the sword embedded in the stone. Rather than going back to the castle, Wart pulls the sword out of the stone.
No one can believe that a mere boy removed the sword from the stone. Wart has to prove to the knights that he achieved this feat, and he is eventually proclaimed King Arthur of England. Fortunately, the nervous new king has his wizard friend Merlin to guide him with his wisdom and magic.
Finding Nemo

Marlin is a clown fish who lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his beloved son Nemo. As a single parent, Marlin tries hard to protect Nemo from the many dangers present in the water.
On Nemo’s first day of school, Marlin warns Nemo about such dangers as swimming too far away and getting lost, attacked, or caught. Unfortunately, Nemo doesn't pay attention to his father's warnings and swims beyond the edge of the reef to explore a shipwreck. As his father watches helplessly, Nemo is captured by a diver. (Nemo is taken to live in a fish tank in a dentist's office overlooking Sydney Harbor.)
Meanwhile, Marlin frantically searches for his son. During his search, he meets Dory, a blue fish with memory problems. Together, Marlin and Dory set off to find Nemo. Along the way, they undertake many adventures and experience many dangers. Word of their adventures spreads through fish and fowl, and even Nemo in his fish tank hears of his father's heroic rescue mission.
Nemo, however, is planning his own escape with help from Gill and his other tank mates. Time is running out, though, because the dentist is planning to give Nemo to his niece Darla, who mistreats her pets.
A gossip-loving pelican named Nigel helps Marlin and Dory in Sydney Harbor. After a number of mishaps, father and son are reunited and return home.
The Lion King

Simba, a lion cub, is the son of King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi. Simba lives by Pride Rock on the African plains with his parents, his uncle Scar, Zazu the royal adviser, Rafiki the wise baboon, and other animals, including his best friend, the young lioness Nala.
As a future king, Simba is taught to respect all the creatures around him, as they are all part of nature's "Circle of Life." He knows that one day he will follow in his father's footsteps and reign over the Pride Lands. Now, however, all is not well. Simba's uncle Scar wants to be king and is willing to do anything to gain power.
Scar has an opportunity to gain power by killing Mufasa. He tricks Simba into thinking his father's death is his fault. Scar advises Simba to leave the Pride Lands, and Simba, full of anguish and guilt, obeys.
Exhausted, Simba collapses in the jungle and wakes up to find that Pumbaa the warthog and Timon the meerkat have saved his life. Simba stays in the jungle with his new friends. Time passes and Simba grows to young manhood.
One day, Simba is visited by Nala. She persuades him to return home: the Pride Lands are suffering with Scar as their king. Rafiki convinces Simba that he must now take on his royal responsibilities.
The dry season has left the Pride Lands without water, and the animals are hungry and thirsty. Simba returns to challenge Scar. After a mighty battle, Simba emerges the winner. As Nala reunites with Simba, the rains finally begin, symbolizing a new beginning for all.
101 Dalmatians

Roger and his Dalmatian Pongo meet Anita and her Dalmatian Perdita in the park. Both the human couple and the dog couple fall in love, and a short time later, Roger and Anita are married.
One day, Perdita gives birth to fifteen Dalmatian puppies. Then an old acquaintance of Anita's arrives at the house. Cruella de Vil is now an evil and selfish woman who wants to buy the puppies to turn their fur into coats. Roger and Anita refuse to sell their puppies.
Determined to have the puppies, Cruella hires two villains, Jasper and Horace, to steal the puppies and hide them in her old mansion, Hell Hall. Cruella already has a collection of eighty-four Dalmatian puppies there.
The family looks high and low for the missing puppies. Following messages sent across the country by barking dogs, Pongo and Perdita succeed in finding Cruella's old house. They have help from three animals in particular--a cat named Sergeant Tibs, a horse named The Captain, and an old English sheepdog named the Colonel.
After several mishaps and dangerous moments, all ninety-nine puppies are rescued. They begin the long and dangerous journey back to London, closely pursued by the evil Cruella and her two companions. The villains crash their car on an icy road, and the dogs make their way safely back home. In the end, Roger and Anita decide to keep all 101 Dalmatians!
Peter Pan

In the nursery of the home of the Darling family, Wendy Darling tells bedtime stories to her younger brothers, John and Michael. Her stories are about the adventures of Peter Pan, a boy who can fly and who never grows old. Mr. Darling decides that Wendy is old enough to leave the nursery, and this will be her last night there.
It is just then that the real Peter Pan arrives with his little friend Tinker Bell, a fairy. He offers to take Wendy and her brothers to Never Land, a magical place where children never have to grow up.
In Never Land, Wendy and her brothers meet Peter’s band of Lost Boys—a gang of young orphans who are devoted to him. The children also meet Captain Hook, a mean pirate who is always plotting against Peter. A long time ago, while dueling with Peter, Captain Hook lost his hand and the Crocodile ate it.
Captain Hook and his assistant Mr. Smee kidnap Tinker Bell, Wendy, her brothers, the Lost Boys, and Peter’s friend Tiger Lily. The pirates try to trap Peter. Tinker Bell manages to escape in time to save Peter from Hook’s plot. Peter rescues the children and defeats Captain Hook, who is left to be eaten by the Crocodile.
Peter asks Wendy to stay in Never Land, but she feels that she and her brothers should return home. Peter takes the children back home to England, sailing on Captain Hook’s ship.
Beauty and the Beast

Belle is a beautiful, polite, and clever young woman. Gaston is a vain and determined man who wants to marry Belle. She ignores him and spends her time looking after her father, Maurice, an eccentric inventor.
One day, Belle’s father gets lost in the woods and finds an enchanted castle, where all the servants have been magically changed into household objects. He meets Lumiere the French candelabra, Cogsworth the clock, Mrs. Potts the teapot, and Chip, her teacup son.
The servants do their best to make Maurice feel welcome. But their master the Beast puts him in the dungeon. The Beast is a frightening and bad-tempered creature who can only break the powerful magic spell that turned him into the Beast if he can learn to unselfishly love another and be loved in return.
Belle comes to rescue her father and agrees to remain in the castle with the Beast if her father is set free. The Beast starts to fall in love with Belle, but Belle misses her father so much that the Beast, in spite of his love for her, allows her to go home.
Gaston gathers a mob of angry citizens to attack the Beast in his castle. Belle now realizes that she loves the Beast, and rushes back to the castle to warn him. She arrives just in time: the spell is broken, and the Beast is turned back into a handsome prince. |
