The "clip art" links bring you to sites where you can print out or download simple pictures of items mentioned in particular units. You can use this artwork for vocabulary practice or other activities in the classroom.

Many of the forms listed here are in PDF format, which is readable by Adobe® Acrobat Reader®. The Reader is available as a free download; click here for information on downloading the program.


Unit 1 Your life

Check the weather
Print out the national forecast from The Weather Channel or CNN City Finder and have students compare weather conditions in various parts of the country.

Telephone etiquette
This telephone etiquette activity from Three Rivers Tech Prep Consortium (in Georgia) provides a checklist, basic points to remember, and tips on answering the phone.

Train, subway, and bus schedules
Print out authentic schedules and fares for discussion in the classroom. Many bus, train, and transit companies publish their schedules on the web. Search for the website of your local transit company and print out some of the schedules. Here are some examples:

You can also print schedules from national/regional rail and bus companies:

  • Amtrak train schedules. Choose one of the train lines local to your students.
  • Greyhound bus schedules. You need to select a departure and destination city.
  • The Bonanza Bus line has simple schedules that can be printed out and used in the classroom.

Itinerary form
