The sites listed below provide additional information and authentic forms related to a theme of each unit. Some of the sites have printable materials that can be used in class.

The "clip art" links bring you to sites where you can print out or download simple pictures of items mentioned in particular units. You can use this artwork for vocabulary practice or other activities in the classroom.

Many of the forms listed here are in PDF format, which is readable by Adobe® Acrobat Reader®. The Reader is available as a free download; click here for information on downloading the program.

Check the weather
Print out the national forecast from The Weather Channel or CNN City Finder and have students compare weather conditions in various parts of the country.

Telephone etiquette
This telephone etiquette activity from Three Rivers Tech Prep Consortium (in Georgia) provides a checklist, basic points to remember, and tips on answering the phone.

Printable telephone notes

Rental agreements

• University of California Irvine's Off-Campus Housing Forms page has a number of downloadable documents, including a tenant's resume, a sample rental agreement, and an agreement for a room in a private home.

Print out this page from drugstore.com so that your students can practice comparing soap prices.

Train, subway, and bus schedules
Print out authentic schedules and fares for discussion in the classroom. Many bus, train, and transit companies publish their schedules on the web. Search for the website of your local transit company and print out some of the schedules. Here are some examples:

• San Francisco's Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) has printable schedules.
• The New York City Transit website has printable rail, bus, and subway schedules.
• Chicago Transit Authority offers bus and train schedules.
• The Dallas Area Rapid Transit website provides bus and train schedules. (Select from the "Routes and Schedules" menus on the left side of the screen.)
• The Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) site has easy to read maps and schedules. Print out a map and its corresponding schedule.

You can also print schedules from national/regional rail and bus companies:

• Amtrak train schedules. Choose one of the train lines local to your students.
• Greyhound bus schedules. You need to select a departure and destination city.
• The Bonanza Bus line has simple schedules that can be printed out and used in the classroom.

Itinerary form
You can hand out this itinerary form to your students along with a train or bus schedule.

Print out this travel expense form for practice with filling out personal information, prices, and schedules. (PDF format)

The Clips Ahoy site has various images that can be used in classroom activities.

Printable checklists
The site, "My Parentime," provides printable checklists of chores to be done in various rooms around the house. These checklists can be used for vocabulary practice.

A printable form with essential information to fill in and leave with a babysitter.

Safety products catalog
This online catalog from the Omark Safety Equipment Company has excellent photos of safety products in many categories (for hands, eyes, etc.).

How to balance a checkbook
Nebraska Cooperative Extension has a step-by-step worksheet that can be printed out to help students learn to balance their checkbooks.
