For more resources, try PBS’s People’s Century site. In the ‘Your Stories’ section, you can read or submit your own story and the ‘Episodes’ section contains much interesting detail about key periods in the history of the twentieth century.

EnglishOnline.Net has a series of tips about writing that includes a section on common usage errors with examples and exercises. Your students could use this site to improve their writing skills. The section on keeping a journal is very useful.
