Just double click on any word or type it in the box and click on OK. The definition will open in a new window.

To look up a compound noun or phrase, highlight the phrase with the mouse, then hold down the shift key and double click the end of the highlighted phrase.

Please note, if you use an Apple Macintosh computer the double click facility is not yet available. Just type a word directly into the box to use the Longman Web Dictionary or click here to open the Longman Web Dictionary window.
