Unit 15 - It's all in the past

Esperanto is an artificial language that was created to make communication easier between people of different lands and cultures by providing the world with a language that wasn't specific to one country. It was first put forward by Dr Zamenhof in the 19th century using the name Dr 'Esperanto' meaning 'one who hopes'.

Scattered Tongues is a website dedicated to the hundreds of lesser-known languages used across the world. It also includes links to sites about a wide number of constructed languages such as those used in science fiction films, as well as information on how to construct your own language.
