Unit 9 – Too much of a good thing

Close To Home Online is a website that accompanies an American TV series about addiction, which contains many informative articles and links.

Get your class to discuss the idea of addiction to things we take for granted. For example, do many of them drink coffee? How many cups do they have a day? Would the students who drink a lot of coffee see themselves as addicts?

Epicurious gives a variety of information about food and eating from across the world. The site also includes some recipes, which you could try out for yourself!

Ask your students to say whether they would consider themselves a good cook or not. If they do cook, what kind of meals do they prepare?
