Eco-tourism is a form of tourism which has developed in recent years as people have become more conscious of the effect of the tourist industry on the environment. It attempts to conserve or make a minimal impact on the local environment in which tourism is taking place, as well as preserving local cultures and helping generate income for the communities involved.
