A teacher who really inspired me was one of my tutors on my diploma course, a guy called Alan Brannel. He was very thin and wiry and he had a shaven head and wore Dr. Martin boots and he was just amazing. He was completely off the wall he was prepared to go out on a limb and he was great.
He once came into a session on... and he said I want you to tell me what you want to know, what you want to do and he negotiatedthe content of the session with us and this was very, very new for me, and he was a great guy. And for a while I actually tried to be him, and it didn’t really work for me but I definitely picked up a lot of his style and part of his teaching DNA is part of my teaching DNA now.
