The Ball Game

Goal: to introduce selves

1. Have ready a soft ball made of sponge or other material.
 
2. Ask the students to stand in a circle. Say, 'I'm _____.' Then throw the ball to a student. Help the student say the same, using his or her own name. After the student has finished, he or she asks, 'What's your name?' and throws the ball to another student.
 
3. When it is clear that the students are beginning to remember most of the names, stop throwing the ball. To check, simply point to different students in the circle and ask for their names from the other students.
