Bob Hastings has more than 25 years experience in ELT and teacher training in the UK, France and Spain. A firm believer in the communicative approach to language teaching, Bob, who has an MSc in Applied Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh, has been writing for Pearson Longman since 2001. At present he is on sabbatical from his day job as DOS of a private language school in Córdoba. Married to a French-speaking Spaniard, he lives in a trilingual environment. In his free time, he enjoys writing fiction, hill-walking, cycling and travelling. |
Jane Comyns Carr has a BA in English from Exeter University. She started teaching English in 1980 and has been training English teachers since 1989. She has lived and worked in Italy, Spain, Poland and Greece, and was DoS at International House London and Bilbao. Jane started writing for Pearson on the ‘Cutting Edge’ series while she was living in London. She moved to Australia in 2002, where she lives with her partner, cat and dog, and is currently working on a series of short stories for children. She enjoys travel, walking, sailing and entertaining, and is interested in languages and music. |

Jenny Parsons started teaching in 1969. After working in Turkey and Morocco, she spent 15 years in Brazil where she was DOS at International House, Rio de Janeiro. In 1989, she returned to London and worked as a teacher trainer for IH. She also represented the IH World Organisation on visits to over 40 affiliated schools worldwide, including Central and Eastern Europe. In 2003 she moved to Spain, where she writes for Pearson. Likes travel, reading and music; working with students / teachers; learner training. |
Stuart McKinlay graduated in English from Manchester University. He has worked for a variety of institutions over the past fifteen years including secondary schools and further/higher education establishments in Poland, France and the UK, most recently at the Teacher Training College in Lodz, Poland. He has been writing for Pearson since 2003. When not battling with deadlines, he enjoys writing, travelling and music. |
