Blended Learning: What’s it all about?
Are you fed up with marking homework? Finding it hard to keep track of what your students are doing? Do you have issues with mixed abilities? If so, then it might be worth thinking about the benefits that blended learning can bring. This session will look at what we mean by blended learning, and will demonstrate how the use of an online course component can have advantages for students and teachers alike.

Communication: The human side
In order to 'make things happen' at work and succeed in their careers our students need to learn how to collaborate and communicate effectively. This involves teaching functional language that, in the past, has involved presenting lists of 'useful expressions'. Vicki will demonstrate how we can upgrade our teaching of functions to provide our students with the language they really need to be effective in today's world of work.

In this presentation Nicky Hockly and Mark Pegrum look at some of the theory underpinning digital literacies, and also at some practical classroom activities that can help you and your learners develop your digital literacies at the same time as providing valuable language practice.
