Ros Wright

Ros Wright

Co-author, English for Nursing 1 and 2

Ros Wright is co-author of Vocational English for Nursing with Maria Spada Symonds and Bethany Cagnol. Past President of TESOL France, Ros holds an MA in Materials Development for Language Learners and specialises in English for medical purposes, training medical professionals in Paris since 1998. She has also co-authored other titles in the same field of ESP, including English for Medicine (2010, Garnet Education) and Good Practice (2008, CUP); the inaugural winner in 2008 of the IATEFL BESIG David Riley Award for Innovation.

Bethany Cagnol

Bethany Cagnol

Co-author, English for Nursing 1

Bethany Cagnol has a BA from the University of Virginia, US, and an MA in Teaching Second and Foreign Languages from the University of London Institute in Paris. She has been president of TESOL France, served on the board of IATEFL BESIG and has spoken at several ELT conferences.  She owns a language training company in Paris, International Customer, and has worked on a number of projects with various publishers. Her professional interests include teaching adult learners, testing, teacher development and English for specific purposes.

Maria Spada Symonds

Consultant, English for Nursing 1 and Co-author, English for Nursing 2

Maria Spada Symonds (BS, BSN, RN) holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan and a TEFL Certificate from the University of London in Paris. She went on to develop a course to prepare non-Anglophone nurses to take the NCLEX Nursing exam and practice in the US. Having established the first Kaplan Standardised Test Preparation Centre in Paris, she further specialised in training and preparing Medical Professionals for their experiences in the US. In addition to directing the centre, her favourite activity was Teacher Training in this area. Her role on Vocational English has been to act as Consultant to ensure authenticity of the Nursing content for Vocational English for Nursing 1 & 2.
