1. Don't let your children give out any personal information such as address, telephone number, school address or any of your personal information without your permission.
2. Always make sure your children get permission for anything they do on the Web, like entering competitions or downloading material.
3. Teach them not to click on any links in emails unless they know who they are from.
4. Encourage your children to tell you if they think something is wrong or they feel uncomfortable with any content.
5. Never let then send any pictures of themselves without checking first.
6. Don't encourage your children to make arrangements to meet people who they have met over the Web. If you do allow them to meet, it should be IN A PUBLIC PLACE and an ADULT SHOULD GO WITH THEM.
7. All Internet passwords should be kept a secret. Don't let your children tell them to anyone other than yourself - not even their best friends!
8. Find out what sites your children go to and visit them to find out what type of information they offer. If you find anything offensive you should report this to your service provider or some countries have foundations which have been set up to deal with offensive material on the Web.
9.Teach your children to be good 'netizens' (citizens on the net) and not to do anything that might hurt other people or break any laws.
